About

When someone dies, the hardest part is knowing where to begin.

Afterwise exists to remove that uncertainty — to turn a scattered, overwhelming list into a calm sequence you can follow at your own pace.

01Why we made it

The information about what to do after a death already exists — but it’s spread across government sites, banks, insurers, pension providers and legal pages. People are left assembling their own checklist during one of the hardest weeks of their lives.

The problem isn’t a lack of information. It’s the uncertainty of not knowing what comes first, what can wait, and what to do next. Afterwise answers that one question, again and again, until you’re through it.

02What we are, and aren’t

Afterwise is

  • A clear, personalised roadmap of what to do next
  • Plain-English guidance written for the UK
  • A private tool that keeps your progress on your own device

Afterwise isn’t

  • A solicitor or a substitute for legal advice
  • A probate or estate administration service
  • A company that will sell to you in your hardest moment
“You don’t need to do everything today. You only need to know what comes next.”
